Ob Containerhäfen, Funkmasten, Autobahnkreuze oder Ölpumpen, die handwerklich meisterhaften Fotografien und Videos von Işık Kaya und Thomas Georg Blank zeigen kritische Architekturen neoliberaler Industrie. Dabei finden sie eine Bildsprache, die erzählerische Distanz zu diesen Systemen erlaubt. In intensiver Auseinandersetzung mit den Ressourcen, deren Ausbeutung ihre Werke aufzeigen, entwickeln Kaya & Blank eigene fotografische Verfahren und belichten ihre Motive teils auf Bitumen, Meersalzen oder lebenden Algenkulturen. So wird die historische Rolle der Fotografie, als Instrument menschlicher Naturbeherrschung, neu verhandelt.
