Wir freuen uns am Mittwoch, den 14. Dezember 2016, Antonie Angerer und Anna-Viktoria Eschbach, bei basis zu begrüßen. Sie werden über die Entwicklung ihres Kunstraumes „I: project space“ im Zusammenhang mit der Entwicklung und dem aktuellen Stand unabhängiger Kunsträume in Peking berichten.

The exhibition Working Holiday by YOO Hwasoo runs from Septemer 9 to September 21. The presentation concludes his three-month artist residency by AIR_Frankfurt.

Nitribitt zu Gast bei basis
 

Was kennzeichnet den Wandel Detroits in den letzten Jahren? Warum schreiben sich Rassismus und soziale Ungleichheiten fort? Und inwiefern setzt sich die Geschichte Detroits, die mit Henry Ford begann, unter den Vorzeichen neoliberaler Austeritätspolitik fort?

Detroit is dead – eine Ruine des Fordismus und Relikt des sozialen und ökonomischen Aufstiegs. Die Ästhetik ihrer Morbidität, die verlassenen Fabrikgebäude und abgebrannten Häuser werden in zahllosen bildgewaltigen Fotos in Szene gesetzt.

Im Leseraum stellt basis eine breite Auswahl an internationalen Kunstmagazinen, Katalogen sowie ausgewählter Literatur aus den Bereichen Kunst, Kultur, Gesellschaft und Kritik als Präsenzbibliothek öffentlich zur Verfügung. Im Rahmen kontinuierlicher Veranstaltungen werden Verlage, VertreterInnen von Magazinen, sowie KünstlerInnen und ProduzentInnen eingeladen, den Leseraum durch Präsentationen, Vorträge, Lesungen und Screenings programmatisch zu bespielen.
